repeat once, then play main riff, verse, chorus, then go to the bridge:
It starts with (I find it easier to play it this way):
e ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

E---------3---------3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3----------------------
I....................I I............................................................................I
play 3 times play after every third time
2nd guitar plays:
D--0--0--7--4--0--0--7--4
during the 3-5 part
you then return to the main riff, but in the song, only 1 guitar plays it. If you're by yourself, I suggest switching to the bridge pickup to play that riff before switching back to the neck or middle to give it more depth. I play the whole song with the neck pickup (I have a guitar with 2 humbuckers) when I'm by myself to give the effect of a bass playing along.
other notes: you should be able to get this after listening to the song, there's one part I didn't include (almost sure its only 1) and that's the lead riff in the verse. Its virtually the same thing as the intro, I just haven't had the need to figure it out.
lyrics:
Verse 1:
This is much better than,
it ever was before.
And next year I better have,
my foot in the door.
Cause all along,
I felt it all so much.
Now I'm feeling strong,
the hard work seems to get me nowhere.
Chorus:
So ears to the wall, and listen for,
one shred of hope.
And I can't, ignore the sound,
of good to come.
This time next year.
Verse 2:
Nothin is better than,
making my own day.
But anything is better than,
wasting away.
When all along,
I've let them get to me.
But not for long,
cause this time next year I'll be listening.
Chorus
Bridge:
You can get next to me,
but you can't read my mind.
I'll have faith in,
I can have faith in,
in what no one else will.
I'll have faith in,
I can have faith in,
in what no one else will.
I'll have faith in,
I'll have faith in,
in what no one else will.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official THE MOVIELIFE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
