Okay, this is the way to play this song without tuning down. It is done true to form. It starts after the beginning lead part. All chords will be barre except those notated.

C#2 F#
It's the way he looks at you that says to me this isn't over
C#2 F#
From the outside looking in you see there's nothing sacred here, nothing sacred
G#sus4 G#
You can bend but you can't break
(Second verse, same as the first:)
For the reasons out of our control, you try to make it roll like a dice away
But you say that you're all empowered here. This is obviously not clear enough to me
You can bend but you can't break, you can't break
F# G# A#m G#
Hey little girl Keep dancing Hey little girl alone
F# G# B2
Cause there's not enough time in your day to keep you here
F# G# B2
A2(not barre) C#2
Soldier's daughter did your daddy, did your daddy hurt you? Did he make you feel bad
A2(not barre) G#sus4
Did he poison your views with the water he was raised on
G#sus4(con't) G#
Oh your father's son says hang on, hang on
F# G# A#m G# F#
Hey little girl keep dancing hey little girl keep dancing alone
G# A#m G#
Cause there's not enough time in your life to stay here yeah
F# G# B# F#
C#2 F#
So over the hills he'd climb
C#2 F#
Just to see her there in time
Just to watch the sun shine through her dress, sweet soldier's daughter, sweet soldier's daughter
G# C#2
MMMMMMMMMM
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official TONIC tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
