Forty-six And Two
Tabbed By: Hillis
Tuning: DAda (I am 90% sure this song is tabbed this way. If you don't want to tune your g-string to an a, you could just play everything two frets higher.[i.e. A 5 would be a 7])
You should be able to figure out the timing by yourself, it isn't that hard. I don't think this is perfect, but it's my first tab...
Main Riff
A-----5--3h5----6p5-----3h5----1h3
D---0--0------0------0-------0------
A----------------------------------- x3
D-----------------------------------
A---5--3h5----6p5----10p9----6p5--
D-0--0-----0------0--------0------
A-----------------------------------
D-----------------------------------
Play that entire shiznat x3, then play this fill:
Fill 1
A|--5--3--6p5---|
D|-------------0-|
A|----------------|X3
D|---------------|
A|-5--3--6p5----3h5-|
D|-------------0-----|
A|-----------------|
D|-----------------|
Play the Main Riff until the chorus.. I think it's about seven times.
Then(Chorus):
A--------------------------------
D-------------------------------
A---5--3h5---6p5---3h5----1h3--- x7
D-0--0-----0-----0------0-------
A------------------
D------------------
A-5----5---5---5---
D-0----0---0---0---
Interludish Thing before 2nd Verse
A|--5--3--6p5--|
D|-----------0-|
A|-------------|
D|-------------|
A|-5--3--6p5---3h5-|
D|-----------0-----|
A|-----------------|
D|-----------------|
Play all that 8x
Verse 2(This is a lot like Verse 1..Except different) Play it all 2x through
A---5--3---6---5----1h3-
D-0--0---0---0----0------
A--------------------------
D--------------------------
A---5--3---6---5----1h3-
D-3--3---3---3----3------
A--------------------------
D--------------------------
A---5--3---6---5----10p9-
D-5--5---5---5----5------
A--------------------------
D--------------------------
Play the chorus again
Then,
A------------------------------
D------------------------------
A------------------------------ x8
D---5h7--3h5--5h7--5-3h5-
Not sure about this part in the least, but I guess this will work.
A--------------------
D--------------------
A-------------------- x4(Start over on the "If I" "Die" yelling parts there..yeah..)
D--0---2--0-2~~~--
After that Breakdown, play this for the..second interlude I guess.
(x8)
A-------------|------------------
D-------------|------------------
A--5-3-6p5----|--5-3-6p5-1h3-- x2
D-------------|------------------
(x16)
A-------------|------------------
D-------------|------------------
A--5-3-6p5----|--5-3-6p5-1h3-- x2
D-------------|------------------
That riff should end at the end of the weird guitar solo.. Then
A------------------------------------
D------------------------------------
A---5-3---6p5---5-3---6p5----1h3-- x4
D--------------0-----------0------
I am almost sure this is played here... The guitar plays something different from the last time, I am probably wrong..But it works.
A-----------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------------
A---5--3h5---6p5----3h5---1h3-------------------- x3
D-0--0-----0------0-----0-------------------------
Final Riff
A--------------------
D--------------------
A-5----5---5---5--5- x3
D-0----0---0---0--0-
A-----------------
D----------0---0--
A-5----5---5---5-
D-0----0---0---0-
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official TOOL tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
