Once again I have had trouble finding a complete On your own version to
my liking. So here is my own version with lyrics and base once again
from other sources but just with the correct timing and actual chords.
The problem with verve stuff is that you can find correct lyrics with
incorect chords and some good progression ideas for the song with bad
lyrics. So here it is, the definative On your own chording.
Chords
G - 320033
Cadd9 - X32033
E7add2 - 022032
Am7 - 002013
NB: Through electric parts of this song the rythm guitar can play
standard G C and Em.
Verse 1
-------
G Cadd9
Tell me what you've seen
E7add2
Was it a dream?
Cadd9
Was I in it?
G Cadd9
Life seems so obscene
Em
Until its over
Cadd9
Who knows?
Chorus
------
G Am7
All I want is someone
Cadd9
Who can fill the hole
Em
In the life I know
G Am7
In between life and death
Cadd9
When there's nothing left
Em
Do you want to know?
Cadd9
You come in on your own
Em
And you leave on your own
Cadd9
Forget the lovers you've known
Em
And your friends on the road
Verse 2
-------
G Cadd9
Tell me if its true
Em
That I need you
Cadd9
You are changing
G Cadd9
I've seen this road before down
Em
On this floor
Cadd9
It is hurting me
Chorus
------
G Am7
All I want is someone
Cadd9
Who can fill the hole
Em
In the life I know
G Am7
In between life and death
Cadd9
When there's nothing left
Em
Do you want to know?
Cadd9
You come in on your own
Em
And you leave on your own
Cadd9
Forget the lovers you've known
Em
And your friends on the road
Middle 8
--------
Cadd9 Em Cadd9 Em
Lies, I've got to get rid of this hole inside...
(I'm coming in on my own...)
The acoustic version:
(This was chorded by Atienza)
Intro: G Cadd9 Em Cadd9
After the 2nd chorus, these lines are sung:
Cadd9 Em
Whoa, I'm standing here I'm all alone
(I'm coming in on my own...
In on my own yeah...)
The feeling inside my soul...
I'm standing here on my own...
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official VERVE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
