VIOLENT FEMMES - "johnny" Tablature
Official VIOLENT FEMMES Tablature & Sheet Music »
Johnny by Violent Femmes
--------------------------
This is off Add It Up and it's brilliant and very simple.
It is based around only two chords, D & Em, with kinda improvised
strumming and lots of bass.
Em D Em D (Alternating the whole time, a measure each)
Oh Johnny, do you miss, your mother,
do you you miss, your father.
Oh and Johnny do you miss me?
I was so hungry I just wanted to attack,
and I was so hungry, ah let me know I never, I never look back.
Oh Johnny, sometimes I wonder, sometimes I wonder,
And I, And I, wonder what it's like to die,
Ah now I know, I see coulda been a star.
I coulda, I coulda been a wit.
I tell you something else right now, right now John,
we could have been, sailing along, on our ship.
Is this ring that he wore,
it's just another thing that he wore,
But there is something about this ring,
that I, I, I just can't ignore.
I sorta keep it, but I don't know what for.
Oh Johnny, do you miss all the old ladies,
do you miss all of the crazies, and ahh Johnny,
do miss me?
Ahh Johnny do you miss, your mother,
do you miss, your father?
Ah Johnny there's, there is something I'd like to know,
And I, and I could you tell me John,
could you tell me what it's like to die?
Ah man, could you tell me what it's like to die?
Ah John, could you tell me what it's like to die?
tell me what's it like to die, Johnny, ahhhhhh,
can you tell me what it's like to die? Johnny, Johnny, Ahhhhhh,
can you tell me what it's like to die? Johnny, Johnny, Ahhhhhh,
can you tell me what it's like to die? Johnny, Johnny, Ahhhhhh,
can you tell me what it's like to die? Johnny, Johnny, Ahhhhhh,
I can't hear you I can't hear you Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, ahhhhhhh
can you tell me what it's like to die? Johnny, Johnny, Ahhhhhh,
can you tell me what it's like to die?
Ok, that was Johnny, put more Violent Femmes up here, and support this band,
because they bring ALL their equipment on the bus.
Mail/comments/corrections/flames welcome.
BYE!
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official VIOLENT FEMMES tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
