After endless searches on tab databases and on the web, I haven't been able to find any
sites that feature any music by Wide Mouth Mason. For those of you that don't know who
these guys are, they are a band from Canada. They currently have released 4 albums
and their newest album is called Stew. It features 13 tracks and is to me, the best
album. (www.widemouthmason) For those of you that do know who this fine band is,
finding tab's for their songs is quite hard considering no one has tabbed them out. Well
I've decided to tab out a series of songs from their latest CD for those hardcore WMM fans
out like there me. I really enjoy listening to Wide Mouth Mason because for one, the singer,
Shaun Verreault has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard along with an unbreak
-able lead and rhythm guitar talent, Earl Pereira provides very funky and moving bass
lines and Safwan Javed gives the whole sound a back bone beat. These guys are some of the
biggest talents to ever come out of Canada. I know this from going to numerous concerts
of their's and hearing them live. It truely brings tears. All in all though, the music
by Wide Mouth Mason is truely a dream to any professional or aspiring guitar player. These
guys really know how to play. Anyways, enough of the talk right, let's try the music.
Riff A
This riff is played throughout the introduction, chrous and outro.
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------5b---------------(5)--(7)-------------------------5b-----------------|

E|-------------------------------5--x---3----5---(x)-----------------------------7---------|
*slight bend
Riff B
e|-------------------|
B|-------------------|
G|-------------------|
D|-------------------|
A|--7---7------------|
E|--0---0---0--0--0--|
This is the guitar fill riff with a WAH pedal during the verse. Now it's either
this way or similar or he just hits an open LOW E and wah's it up and down.
Either way, it sounds similar.
Riff A into Bridge Riff C
Play the begining of Riff A as usual but in the second part of it, play this...
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------3-------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------3-------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------4-------|
D|------------------------5b-------------------------------------------------------3-------|
A|-(x)-7-p-5-h-7-p-5-h-7------5--7--------------------5--5b--------5---------------5-------|

E|--3--3--3--3--3-3-------2------1---------------------------------------------------------|
^------^---strum these chords with the beat
That's about it. Work with the solo. It's in the key of E which is a pretty simple
solo pattern. Shaun really goes all out in his solo's when he is playing live so
they are always different. Anyways, enjoy!
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official WIDE MOUTH MASON tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
