After listening more closely to the lyrics on the other version of this
song (whose intro sounds an awful lot like the Sesame Street theme), I
think these are the correct lyrics...
Wilco, "Outtasite (Outta Mind)"
By Jeff Tweedy
©1996 Ampersand Music/Warner Tamerlane Publishing Co./Ver Music (BMI)
From the Reprise recording "Being There"
VERSE ONE:
Well I know we don't talk much
But you're such a good talker, oh whoa
Well I know we should take a walk
But you're such a fast walker, oh whoa
Well, all right
CHORUS:
I know where I'll be tonight, all right
Outta mind, outta sight
VERSE TWO:
Well okay, I know you don't love me
But you've still been thinking of me, oh whoa
Well all right, I know you probably hate me
That's okay with me
Well, all right
CHORUS:
I know where I'll be tonight, all right
Outta mind, outta sight
Outta mind, outta sight
BRIDGE:
You don't see me now
You don't want to anyhow
VERSE THREE:
Look out, here I come again
And I'm bringing my friends
Look out, here I come again
I'm bringing my friends, okay, all right, okay, all right
CHORUS:
I know where I'll be tonight, all right
Outta mind, outta sight
Outta mind, outta sight
Outta mind, outta siiiight
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official WILCO tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
